About Us
Trinity Isandla (n. helping hands), formed in 2018 by former students and teachers of Trinity Secondary School, Lenasia, is a registered non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support and assistance to communities surrounding their alma mater, and beyond.
Members are made up of Trinity’s Alumni and former teachers, bound together by a strong common and shared value system to serve and give back to communities in need. They draw on their collective experience, expertise, passions, networks, time and resources to undertake appropriate projects that support beneficiaries requiring assistance.

About Us
Passionate about bettering the lives and futures of those in need, we at Trinity Isandla are committed to mobilizing resources from members, business and individuals and putting them directly into the hands of the needy in our surrounding impoverished communities.
Trinity Secondary School, based in the south of Johannesburg, South Africa, has served as the foundational architect of thousands of young minds drawn from the community of Lenasia and its surrounds. True to the words inscribed in their emblem, Triumph Through Toil, the teachers instilled a deep-seated principle that disciplined hard work will yield successful outcomes. Year on year, the small diverse and committed set of teachers tirelessly shaped and encouraged young minds to strive for academic excellence whilst maintaining a strong humanitarian value system. Their style of teaching was ahead of its time – stretching the minds of their young flock into what is now commonly known as “applied critical thinking”. This approach, unique to their peers in other secondary schools at the time, prepared their students for a new generation of learned adults.
However, it was the innate passion of freedom of expression, especially against the regime at a time when there was a grave injustice being metered out on people of colour. This spirit of righteousness flowed through the veins of most Trinitarians and was part of the journey to a democratic and free South Africa The students of Trinity rose up against this injustice significant and poignant times shared by that crop of students during their formative years contributed enormously to their ongoing yearning to create an equal and just society- leading to the strong characters that they are today.
This acute passion of activism against any form of discrimination has continued to burn bright in every Trinitarian throughout their journey into adulthood. When the Class of 81/82 reunited under the banner of the 2017 Reunion, these individual torches of passion for the betterment of humanity evolved into a bright burning fireball of energy with a singular focus – to make a difference. This energy was then channeled into the formation of Trinity Isandla – Helping Hands to make a difference.
